Move facilitates exchange of skills and experience

According to a report in the Qatar Tribune dated February 15, (reproduced in the June issue of the ASHRAE Oryx Chapter’s newsletter), Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE) and the ASHRAE Qatar Chapter, Oryx, have signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual benefit and cooperation between the two engineering associations. QSE Chairman Ahmad Jassim Al Jolo and ASHRAE President, Hassan Sultan signed the pact in the presence of members of the two bodies, the report said.

Speaking on the occasion, Al Jolo reportedly said that one of QSE’s objectives was to cooperate with other engineering and technical organisations to improve engineering works in Qatar and to assist in the exchange of technology between engineers.

ASHRAE, with a century of achievements in continuous research in the field of energy saving, energy law, green systems, sustainability and materials recycling, will share its rich experience and skills via the Oryx Chapter through joint workshops, meetings and scientific and organisational articles and publications. The MoU will facilitate this process of exchange.

The ASHRAE Qatar Oryx chapter, which was established four years ago with 50 engineers, now claims to have 150 members – an evidence of the Chapter’s relevance among the engineering fraternity of the country. The society has been holding technical workshops and seminars and publishing a newsletter for the benefit of its members and other professionals and engineers, Qatar Tribune report said.
