The conference technical programme will offer over 100 sessions, organisers say
Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 18 October 2018: ASHRAE has announced the technical programme for the 2019 ASHRAE Winter Conference, to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, the association said in a Press communiqué. The conference will be held from January 12 to 16, 2019, at the Omni Hotel Atlanta at CNN Center and the Georgia World Congress Center, the communiqué said. The conference technical programme, which offers over 100 sessions, is now available in the ASHRAE 365 app and corresponding event website, the communiqué further said.
According to ASHRAE, registration for the conference provides free entry to the co-sponsored AHR Expo, to be held from January 14 to 16, 2019, at the Georgia World Congress Center.
The five-day event includes eight conference tracks, selected to represent areas of focus common among ASHRAE membership, the communiqué said.
Corey Metzger, chair of the 2018 ASHRAE Winter Conference, said: “We are very excited to announce this year’s technical programme. The buildings industry has seen increased activity, competition and demand, due to changes in technology, operational demands, codes and design. This event is uniquely positioned to provide industry professionals with a forum to facilitate collaboration and share knowledge for success.”
According to ASHRAE, the conference tracks will include:
PDH’s will be available to attendees who attend any of the technical sessions or ALI courses, the communiqué said. Additionally, ASHRAE will offer onsite administration of ASHRAE certification exams on January 12 and January 16, 2019, the communiqué further said.
The exams being administered include: Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP and CPMP Recertification); Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP); Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP); High-Performance Building Design Professional (HBDP); Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP); and Operations and Performance Management Professional (OPMP), the communiqué said. Applications must be submitted by December 21, 2018, the communiqué further said.
The communiqué said that Sheila J. Hayter, President, ASHRAE, will provide an update on the 2018-2019 society theme, ‘Building Our New Energy Future’, at the President’s Luncheon on Monday, January 14, 2019. The communiqué further said that major contributors to the ASHRAE RP Campaign will be recognised at this lunch.
