Dubai, UAE, 3 October 2018: At the Building Healthcare Innovation & Design Show, held from October 2 to 4, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Lieven Baten, Regional Manager, MENA, Acalis, called for a combined effort on the part of hospital operators, in order to progress. “Today healthcare is getting very specialised and there is an increasing need for architects, engineers and hospital operators to be involved at the design stage,” he said.

Baten said, there is often a sense of realisation, after a building has been completed that logistical changes cannot be carried out. “Operators, architects and engineers are indispensable and need to be taken into talks during the preliminary stages of constructing a hospital building,” he said. In terms of investment, Baten pointed to the importance of operators to calculate the risk mitigation, expenditure per capita and the maturity of the medical services market as factors influencing the end result of a building.
