Dubai, UAE: Unigulf Group, the distributor for Arabian Fiberglass Insulation Company (AFICO), a part of Zamil Industrial Company in Saudi Arabia, has announced that AFICO’s complete range of products has now been certified by Dubai Civil Defense (DCD). The products are now in accordance with the strict fire safety standards set by the DCD, added the announcement.

In order to curtail mishaps, the company said that Dubai regulatory authorities have been making strong efforts to raise the safety standards, and a greater weightage is being given to superior quality products that are used in building constructions.

The DCD certification process, Unigulf Group explained, includes a range of quality control tests and inspections of the manufacturing units, external third party laboratories conducting detailed technical product tests, as well as product testing to ensure that they are in line with the set expectations of the authorities. The inspection teams also assess factory safety procedures and conduct tests to evaluate the knowledge and skills of the technicians involved in the manufacturing process, added Unigulf Group.

With the DCD certification, AFICO’s products can now be available to a wider range of contractors involved in applications, such as pre-fabrication, ceiling, partitions, raised floorings, etc., highlighted the company.

“Unigulf worked closely with AFICO towards acquiring the DCD certificate for its entire range of insulation and acoustic products,” said Prakash Chablani, Managing Director of Unigulf Group. “At a time when the DCD is tightening the fire safety guidelines in the Emirate, the approval reinforces the need to conform with rules and regulations.”
