Forum aims to identify innovative ideas and practices that can move the MENA region towards a more sustainable future
Ammam, Jordan: An international forum seeking to link sustainability and entrepreneurship, AMWAJ 2016 will see representatives from the private and public sectors, as well as experts in social entrepreneurship and environment sustainability gather from November 28 to 29 in Amman, Jordan.
PepsiCo and Revolve Media, the organisers of the event, have announced that in its first edition, AMWAJ – held under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan – will focus on offering ideas, sharing best practices and finding practical solutions to build inclusive societies and achieve a sustainable future for the MENA region.
According to the announcement, the forum intends to provide young social entrepreneurs, journalists, businesses and thought leaders the opportunity to discuss and learn about the most pertinent issues impacting sustainability in the region through presentations, workshops, round-table discussions and site visits to the As-Samra Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Zain Innovation Center and to two of PepsiCo’s Positive Water Impact projects: the Al Jeezeh Pond and Wadi Abu Qatef Dam.
The forum, added the announcement, will also serve as the platform for the unveiling of the 2016 Revolve Water Around the Mediterranean report, which reportedly explores how countries in the Mediterranean and the Middle East are coping with a growing water crisis.
