ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois, United States, 23 March 2023: AMCA consultant, Ron Wroblewski will helm an online technical seminar, from April 13 to May 4, covering the foundations of fan application engineering, AMCA said through a Press release. Wroblewski will co-present with Bill Howarth of Ventilation & Fan Consulting Service International, AMCA added.

Repeating content from the 2022 sessions, the seminar will give learners another opportunity to maximise their knowledge about fan applications, AMCA said. In addition, anyone who attended the two final AMCA sessions at AHR Expo on February 8, about fan systems, fan curves and ventilation pressure, can take this seminar to build upon that introductory knowledge, AMCA said.

The seminar will comprise four, real-time, instructor-led weekly sessions and Q&A discussions, complemented by self-paced online learning modules, AMCA said, adding that the class size is limited to 30 participants, thus urging those interested to register before the programme is full.

AMCA said the in-depth knowledge gained from attending the seminar will enable engineers and designers working on fan systems to design efficient and reliable systems for their clients, as well as analyse existing systems to spot opportunities for improvement.

AMCA said the seminar is ideal for new or junior engineers working at consulting firms or fan manufacturers, as a part of their on-boarding training, and experienced engineers who may have picked up bits and pieces of fan application engineering along their career path but wish to fill the gaps in a more systematic manner. According to AMCA, the topics that would be covered include:

• Fan and System Curves and Motors
• Centrifugal and Axial Fan Characteristics
• Power and Efficiency of Fans
• Pressure Losses and Duct Systems

AMCA said registration would close on April 7, or once all seats are reserved, whichever comes first.
