Estimating that the pumps market in the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region to be around USD two billion annually, Pietro Moro, Building Services Manager – MENA at Xylem, says that the diversity in the region will increase the need for innovative water technology solutions.

Moro explains that trends, such as population growth, urbanisation, industrialisation and water scarcity, will attract investments to boost infrastructure and, “thereby, pumps for various end-markets and applications”.

Being aware of the slump in oil prices, Moro says that he expects a “healthy” growth in pumps market this year. He says, “We are optimistic, because regulations and end-users will continue to drive the need to optimise energy efficiency in pumps and reduce related lifecycle costs.”
