General Manager underscores the importance of having a flexible business strategy to tailor to the demands of new customers as a result of COVID-19
DUBAI, UAE, 4 June 2020: Clima Uno will place stronger focus on growing its business in the GCC region countries and in sub-Saharan Africa in the coming months, said Saad Ali, who has recently joined the company as General Manager. Elaborating on the company’s strategy for the Middle East and Africa markets, Ali said Clima Uno will launch new products designed to address industrial and healthcare sectors in the coming months.
Ali also put the spotlight on the company’s headquarters in Dubai Investments Park, which, he said, spans 200,000 square feet and is considered to be the largest HVAC manufacturing facility in the region from an airside perspective. Ali added that having a strong manufacturing base in the region is especially beneficial, because it allows the company to tailor to new demands. “In the time of COVID-19, there is a lot of focus on the healthcare side,” he said. “We are able to produce solutions and, through R&D design, to tailor to what our new customers are asking for. It’s important for any manufacturer to change and develop something new.”
Ali said that such flexibility is vital towards addressing the business challenges that come as a result of the pandemic. “Covid-19 has impacted every industry, every manufacturer and every service provider in the region,” he said, “But I’ve been in this region for almost 11 years now. I’ve been through its ups and downs, especially when the banking, financial and construction blip happened in 2008, and we have overcome that and we grew up. This is an event that is going to impact everybody, but it is important to remain flexible and nimble and to continue to serve customers with the best of our products. You have to be quick to change your strategy according to the situation you are in.”
For Ali, having a good grasp of the need of the hour is key. “In the 2008 financial crisis, the service continued, but there were no new products involved, so you had to focus on the service side of things” he pointed out. “Now, it’s the other way around. You have to focus on what healthcare is asking you to do.” Considering the questions surrounding air transmission of the virus, Ali said the company has made an active effort to help consultants and contractors by providing free consultancy services to engineers in order to help promote quality and safety of systems.
