Testing necessary to assure food quality throughout the cold chain, says Neogen

Official says increasingly stringent standards in Dubai reflect global trends
Dubai, UAE, 18 April 2018: Testing plays a vital role in ensuring food quality is maintained throughout the cold chain process, said Jose Munha, Business Development Executive, Neogen, a US-headquartered food safety company. “Especially when the goods travel around the world,” Munha said, “compared to before, when it was from farm to fork. It is important to assure traceability and quality for the users.” As Dubai is a big importer of food, Munho said, the increasingly high standards in food safety being applied in the United Arab Emirates are not only necessary and expected, they are also indicative of global trends. Based on his experience of the company’s activities in the region, Munho said this has led to more interest in food safety diagnostic kits on tests related to microbiology, allergens, hygiene and contaminants.
